Syros: Getting There
BY PLANE
In summer, there's at least one flight daily from Athens. Contact Olympic Airways in Athens (tel.

from the port in the direction of Hotel Hermes (tel. +30 22810 88-018 or

BY BOAT
There are Daily Connections with Piraeus Port by High-Speed ferries or
standard Ferries. There are at least one ferry connection with high
speed ferry, travel time 2h 30 minutes (2 1/2h) and by standard ferry
4h 30minutes (4 1/2h). Also there ferry connections with the other
Islands.
- Naxos (1 1/2 hr. by high-speed ferry or hydrofoil, 2 1/2 hr. by
ferry)
- Mykonos (30 min. by high-speed ferry, 1 1/2 hr. by ferry)
- Paros (45 min. by high-speed ferry, 1 1/2 hr. by ferry)
- Tinos (1 hr.)
- Santorini (4-7 hr.).

The
ferries connect once or twice weekly with
- Folegandros (5-6 hr.)
- Sifnos (3 hr.)
- Iraklion (5-10 hr.)
- Samos (7-9 hr. to Vathi)
- Thessaloniki
(12-15 hr.).
There are also daily catamarans from Rafina (2 hr.).
You'll find numerous ferry-ticket offices at the pier. We recommend
you to book your ferry ticket to Siros & other Greek Islands, or
your ferry tickets to Greece or Italy with Greek Ferries Center (www.hellas-ferries.gr).

IMPORTANT NOTE: The ferries sail when the weather is considered suitable and stable conditions are predicted. If the weather is bad, sailings will be cancelled (not often - but there are a few such days every year), and you should be accommodated on the next available sailing.
ADVICE: Allow flexibility in your schedule when
traveling by ferry as part of an ongoing journey. If delayed, see some of the sights of interest you may have missed! The shipping companies are prone to changing which ships they use on any given route - so as always, call to check if you want to book on a particular ship.
